All bets through Fanduel

Nuggets vs Trail Blazers

Nuggets +5

Over 227.5

Carmelo Anthony 2+ threes /win +162

Lillard 30+ PTS/ win +102

Game 5 of this Nuggets vs Trail Blazers 1st round matchup was absolutely insane. We all knew this series would go 6 or 7 games and certainly has lived up to the hype. Damian Lillard did all he could for the Blazers with three different threes in the final seconds to force overtime not once but twice. Lillard had a franchise-record 55 points, ten assists, six rebounds, three blocks, and twelve triples despite the 147-140 double overtime loss. Lillard was absolutely insane down the stretch. Scoring 17 of his team’s 19 points in overtime. If you watched the Lakers vs Suns Game 5 then this game you’d think Lebron James and Lillard deserved each other. They can only do so much. Anyways to the bets. The over is going to hit because it’s hit every game except for one. The Blazers can’t stop anyone all season and the Nuggets without Murray have gotten much worse on defense. They were average before but without three guards due to injury it’s only gotten worse. We probably won’t have 287 tonight but over 227.5 won’t be hard for either team. The game will be close so take the spread on Nuggets +5 points to start the game. The game will be decided in the last two minutes. They’ll look to send the Blazers home. However that won’t happen but they’ll be within five. My pick is the Blazers force Game 7 on the road with a win at Portland in Game 6. Don't take moneyline take the spread. Dame will ball out and hopefully CJ McCollum or Melo will as well. My guess is Melo will play better. CJ McCollum will be better than his -7 plus/minus in Game 5. Hard to see Blazers going home and not forcing a Game 7.

Lakers vs Suns

Lakers -138

Over 207.5

Lakers win margin 1-10 180+

Dennis Schroeder 15+PTS/ win 235+

Lebron James triple double 630+

There’s trouble in paradise. The sunny skies of Los Angeles aren’t so sunny lately considering the 3-2 deficit they face with their two basketball franchises. The Lakers looked terrible in their 115-85 loss to the Suns in Phoenix in Game 5. After hitting their first three shots seemed like they couldn’t find the bottom of the basket again. In my opinion the Suns were getting a lot of calls but that doesn’t change how bad the Lakers played. Dennis Schroeder didn’t score a point. Lebron was shooting 30% from the field at the half. James is clearly hurt and not 100%. He’s also 36 in year 18 he may not be able to do what he did for the Cavs. Where he literally carried teams with my drinking buddies starting to the Finals. Without Anthony Davis the Lakers don’t have a chance. However with a 70% Davis the Lakers have a chance especially since Chris Paul is no where near 100%. It’s disappointing these teams are getting injured now. However that’s the playoffs no is 100%. So for the bets yes the under has been getting hammered in the series which is understandable considering the injuries. Chris Paul and Anthony Davis are very important to their respective offenses and they aren’t playing their best or feeling their best. However don’t see the Lakers playing that poor again. A 207 take a 105-104 final score to clear for me that’s around the final score we’ll see. The Lakers play great defense and Suns play better than most. Lakers will have to score in someway to win. They will do that against a hurt Paul defense. DeAndre Ayton dominated the paint without Davis. Ayton even played well when Davis was there. These two will go back all night. Considering Booker’s scoring and James will something to prove expect the score to be the over. Why do we go with the beat up Lakers team and an aging Lebron? Well because it’s hard for me to believe a Lebron James team being eliminated in Game 6 of the first round. It just simply has never happened. The closest was the Pacers when they took the 2017 Cavs to seven games.  Besides that, it's not close. James has his back up against the wall with a bad roster. These guys couldn’t hit an open shot to save their life. The other Lakers hesitate every step of the way. For the Lakers to win they can’t be hesitant. Which we think will happen if the Lakers win, James has a big night, and Schroeder scored 15 more points than he did last time out.
