Were You Entertained? By Maybe The Greatest Game Ever
How mad are the fans in Mexico City that LA got their game due to poor field conditions? What hell of game the 9-1 Chiefs and 9-1 Rams put on for us last night. The game lived up to all expectations, and more. MVP candidate Todd Gurley was hurt early in the game as he left the game around the 8 minute mark in the 4th, and didn’t get another snap until 7 minutes of game time after that. He had only 12 touches for 55 yards. Luckily his counterpart Kareem Hunt didn’t have a great game either, as he ran for 70 yards in 14 touches. Remember not great game to these Pro Bowlers standers. A task for the Rams to win was to win the turnover battle which they did, but came from a big help from young starting quarterback Jared Goff. Goff through no interceptions had 413 yards throwing, a 117 QB rating, a running touchdown, and 4 touchdown passes. The biggest one came at the end of the game with about 4 minutes left to go that gave LA a 54-51 lead. Chiefs first year starter and MVP candidate Patrick Mahomes had a rough game turnover wise. However did throw 6 touchdowns, and 478 yards throwing. He counted for 5 turnovers just by himself. He threw 3 interceptions, two keys though. One was a pick six, and the other was the one to end the game. Mahomes was always stripped sacked twice by the defending defensive player of the year Aaron Donald. One of Donald’s strip sack was picked up for a touchdown. Donald had a huge affect on the game, and rose his sack lead with now 14.5 sacks on the season. The Chiefs accounted for their own strip sack when Justin Houston took it right from Goff’s hands to basically just walk it in for the score. Chiefs wide receiving speed demon Tyreek Hill had himself a day with 10 catches, 215 yards receiving, and two touchdowns. The only thing you could complain about Hill is twice he fielded two punts he should of let bounce in the end zone. Both gave the Chiefs bad field position even the last drive the Chiefs had to try and tie the game. The game cane down to had that little bit of better defense, and that’s exactly what the Rams had. Mahomes had a final chance to win or tie the game but threw a Hail Mary interception that wasn’t really any receiver. The Rams take the battle of the giants in LA 54-51. Now the real question greatest game ever played?
