Baker Mayfield is better without Odell

In Baker’s Mayfield rookie season he broke the season passing touchdown record for a rookie quarterback which Justin Herbert broke in 2020. Mayfield once had an incomplete pass that he threw for 75 yards. Why I’m I telling you this? Well it’s to make sure you understand that when it comes to talent Mayfield doesn’t lack it. He has great athleticism and a cannon for an arm. From being a walk on at Oklahoma to a first overall pick he doesn’t lack work ethic. Mayfield since coming to Cleveland it has been an up and down roller coaster. In year three he has made a huge jump guiding the Browns to the playoffs and a playoff win. A playoff win without his head coach, other coaches, and major players on defense like Denzel Ward. In my opinion Mayfield game has elevated since Beckham has been out. Last year and early in 2020 in my opinion you could see Mayfield trying to force the ball to Odell. Mayfield didn’t have a QBR in the first seven weeks inside the top 15. After week 7 when Odell got injured he has a top 6 QBR. You can also see him not forcing the ball and the offense is actually able to go through Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Then Mayfield can use that play action what he’s so good at. The Browns win over the Steelers in Pittsburgh is their first since 2003 and Browns first playoff win before Mayfield was born. Mayfield was asked to come up with big plays to hold the lead and delivered almost every time. Mayfield in my opinion is better without Beckham and can dish the ball around, use his running game, and not worry about backlash for not giving his star receiver touches. Big win Sunday Night for those grey face Browns. What do you think? You think the Browns are better without Odell?
