Goat Talk’s Top 5 College Football Rankings
Week 9 College Football Top 5 Rankings
Sorry about not posting that much this week but still have the Week 9 College Football Top 5 Rankings.
More changes coming in at the top 5 in the College Football world as Ohio State who was two last week falls 49-20 to Purdue. Now we have a new top five as these top four teams continue to fall. At five Ohio State’s longtime rival Michigan takes over. Here at Goat Talk we predicted Michigan at 4 in the playoffs, and the thought doesn’t seem that crazy anymore. Michigan has been playing fantastic football from the defense side and offensive side especially from the play of the quarterback Shea Patterson. Michigan has responded great since that week one loss to Notre Dame. Michigan has the best one loss since it is to the third ranked team Notre Dame. With Michigan’s schedule if they only have that one loss with Notre Dame going unbeaten no reason for them not to be in the top four. LSU moves up to four as they top Mississippi State 19-3. Their defense showed much dominance once again. LSU gets into the playoff as the only loss team in the tourney up to this point in the season. LSU needs to win impressively to keep the top four spot as Michigan is right behind them with good argument to sneak in as well. Things to get that final playoff spots are heating up and it’s coming to the best time of the year in CFB. Notre Dame had a bye last week but move up to three with the OSU loss, talk about a good bye week you don’t have to play Bama first come playoff time if they hold up this unbeaten season. As Notre Dame will need to stay unbeaten since they are a non-conference team so they don’t get that last impression like teams in the SEC, Big 10, and Big 12 get with conference championships. Clemson destroy at the time unbeaten NC State. After Dabo Swiney made the change from Kelly Bryant to Trevor Lawrence at quarterback there’s been some questions around Clemson. However they answered some as their defense proved they are arguably the best in the country, and Lawrence can throw the pig skin as he had 308 yards, no turnovers, and a touchdown pass last week. Clemson who had our top two ranking in the beginning of the season will get back to that spot. Alabama continues to roll as they beat up Tennessee last week 58-21. Bama’s quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is on pace for 47 touchdown passes with 0 interceptions, and a Heisman trophy. The Sophomore is everything Nick Saban thought he was, and continues to show why Saban is College Football’s best decision maker. Enjoy the week of games.
