Top 10 NBA Teams Right Now
Top 10 NBA Teams Right Now
- 10. Spurs- They lost Kawhi Leonard but did add Demar DeRozan who was in the NBA MVP discussion last year until James, Harden, and Davis started to take over for their teams. They were a 7th seed with Leonard only playing 7 games but now they have DeRozan who be a help to LaMarcus Aldridge who still is an all star big man. They lost Kyle Anderson, long time Spur legend Tony Parker, and Danny Green but have added Dante Cunningham, Marco Belinelli, and their draft pick Lonnie Walker IV who especially in Pop’s system can be the steal of the draft. The Spurs are still relevant and will improve on from last year.
- 9. Nuggets- The Nuggets lost Wilson Chandler and Kenneth Faried but they added Michael Porter Jr who if he can stay healthy has a lot of upside, Monte Morris, and former all star Isaiah Thomas who we know if he can get healthy can be a big problem for defense. In addition to their top 5 young center in Jokic, young bright future back court in Murray and Harris, with all star Paul Millsap. They only missed the playoffs by a game last year and will improve this season.
- 8. Jazz- The Jazz added Grayson Allen and lost Jonas Jerebko that’s the key to their offseason. No one left all they have to worry about this off-season was improving. Quinn Snyder is proving to be one of the league’s best coaches. Donovan Mitchell can get better since he will be 22 when the season starts. They will still have the reigning defensive player of the year in Rudy Gobert, Derrick Favors just signed long term, and Ingles proved he can shoot in the big time, and they have a perfect pass first point guard in Ricky Rubio for their offense. After this time last year looking like they had nothing they have a lot of upside.
- 7. Thunder- The Thunder have had a fantastic off season. They were going into with rumors about if George leaves are they going to trade Westbrook? Sam Presti has done it again. They have kept Paul George for the long term with a four deal. They added a former sixth overall pick big man in Nerlens Noel who will help them greatly in the paint especially with Steven Adams who is the best offensive rebounder in the league. Also adding Dennis Schroeder who will be coming off the bench which is a great back up plan to have when Westbrook isn’t playing. They are in a rare spot where they got rid of former superstar and might have gotten better with losing Carmelo Anthony. Also with Andre Roberson coming back their defense as gotten a lot better and expect a lot from them this season.
- f you looked at the rest of the roster the Lakers wouldn’t be ranked this high. However they signed Lebron James maybe the greatest player ever. He literally just carried a no name Cavs team the NBA Finals. Lebron has reached eight straight finals which automatically elevates the Lakers to a elite level. With Rondo, Beasley, McGee, Stephenson, and the young players in Kuzma, Ingram, Ball, and Hart Lebron has a nice surprising cast for his style and should be interesting to see what they can do.
- 5. 76ers- Embiid and Simmons just played their first full season together and it wasn’t to bad. Guess what? They are only going to improve this year. They didn’t really lose anyone and whoever they lost wasn’t that big. They added Wilson Chandler for their bench which helps, and if they can add Jamal Crawford the 76ers are very deep.
- 4. Raptors- They were the number one seed in the East last year. They have the same team they did last year but they replaced their best player with an even better superstar. With the addition of Kawhi Leonard the Raptors have a legitimate chance at winning the East. Especially with the bench and the addition of Danny Green they have.
- 3. Rockets- They brought the Warriors to a game 7 last year and still almost won without Chris Paul. Missing 27 threes in a row is rare but with the addition of Melo they do have someone that will pull up from the mid range and knows the system. However they did lose Trevor Ariza which hurts them on defense.
- 2. Celtics- They made it to the Eastern Conference final last year but also brought Lebron to a game 7 without their two all stars. Now they have Hayward and Irving back, so much depth, and a top three coach in the league.
- 1. Warriors- Uhhhhh back to back champs and they still have KD, Curry, Thompson, and Green but they have also added Demarcus Cousins. Not much to explain.
