College Football Week 1 Rankings
College Football is coming up here is our week 1 Top 5 teams in the land.
5 Ohio State: In their first week of the season the Buckeyes will be taking on Oregon State in a game they should walk away with. However the fifth place ranking for Ohio State is more of a safe bet because of off the field issues. All time great head coach Urban Meyer is suspended the first three games which no matter what has an affect on a team. Ohio State has a good chance at repeating as Big Ten champions but these first three weeks will be tough. The Buckeyes are still heavily talented with RB J.K. Dobbins and DL Nick Bosa as their leaders so not much to worry. Dwayne Haskins the new Ohio State quarterback after JT Barrett has left, and is something to watch in week one on how he commands the offense. Meyer has put together a great coaching staff and everything should be alright in Columbus.
4 Wisconsin: Wisconsin has an easy first week as they play Western Kentucky. Wisconsin for the first time in a long time finally has a good defense with a great offense. The Badgers are known for their defense but now have a nationally ranked offensive line with a Heisman contending running back in Jonathan Taylor who is only a Sophomore. Look for receiver Quintez Cephus to break out since tight end Troy Fumagalli is gone and the Badgers will look to stretch the field with their wide outs. If the Badgers can overcome some defensive losses they will stay in this top four for playoff time.
3). Georgia: Georgia has the only benefit in losing in the National Championship game which is experience. Georgia lost a heart breaking National Title game to Alabama last year but with many returning players the Bulldogs still have confidence. They will have an elite secondary with Deandre Baker and J.R. Reed back there. The rest of the defense is also nationally ranked. Sophomore quarterback Jake Fromm looks to improve off his freshman year and lead the Bulldogs to the title game once again.
2 Clemson: Clemson always staying relevant it seems under head coach Dabo Swinney. Swinney knows what it takes to win titles has he’s built another elite defense. The game is won in the trenches and the Tigers are stacked down there. The defensive line is led by star Christian Wilkins alongside defensive end Clelin Ferrell, defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, and defensive end Austin Bryant. The star studded line, solid linebacking crew, and elite secondary is what the Tigers got; it comes down to the offense. Kelly Bryant senior at quarterback looking to bring a title back to Clemson like the man he replaced in DeShaun Watson. Bryant is a quarterback that can run and throw that brought the Tigers to a 12-2 record last season. However his job is not secure with freshman incumbent Trevor Lawrence coming in. Lawrence throws a better ball but Bryant has experience which is why Swinney is giving him the nod for now. The Tigers should be explosive against Furman in week one and all season.
1 Alabama: How do I make this explanation easy? Alabama has won five of the last nine titles. They have a lot of talent at quarterback with sophomore Tua Tagovailoa who led the Crimson Tide to the National Title comeback last year against Georgia. Jalen Hurts will more than likely still compete for the job during season (He led them to a 27-2 record at his time at quarterback.) but will need Tagovailoa to slip to become the starter. The quarterback unrest is a problem however Nick Saban is still the captain of the ship, with a whole lot of talent giving Alabama the edge over everyone.
