Yankees are going for the revenge sweep on the Rays tonight at Tropicana in Saint Petersburg, FL. The Rays swept the Yankees back in the Bronx in April the Yankees are looking to return the favor. The Yankees will be sending Jameson Taillon to the hill to get the sweep. He’s had an up and down 2021 thus far. However Taillon does still have good starts in him. Expect one against the Rays to be one. The Rays don’t hit as well as the rest of the AL East. The defending AL champs are hurting with the 2nd worst slugging in the league and they are hitting .200 with runners in scoring position. It’s hard for the Rays to scratch runs across at times. Taillon will only need to go 5-6 innings before that shutdown bullpen comes in to shut the door on the Rays. Yes Tampa will give the ball to veteran Rich Hill. His 1-1 record with 5.17 ERA can fake anyone out. As of late Hill has been pitching great. Hill has only allowed two runs in the last 15 innings. Even against the AL West leading Athletics he held them to six scoreless innings. Hill struck out 9 against the Yankees earlier in 2021. Hill however was already seen by the Yankees which will be his problem. The Bronx Bombers offense was struggling then. It’s not now. Expect them to jump on Hill. The Yankees will take a 4-3 game tonight in Florida. 


Yes we bet for the Giants over here at Goat Talk. Especially when they are playing the Pirates. DeSclafani will take the ball for the NL West leading San Francisco Giants. Bet you saw that coming in April. DeSclafani has been one of the reasons the Giants are having dark horse capability. In his eight starts he’s 2-1 with a 2.40 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 41 1/3 innings pitched. The Giants rotation has been the backbone of the team. They are sixth in the league in ERA and WHIP. You can’t sleep on a team that pitches. DeSclafani pitched last Friday against a top 5 offense coming into 2021 in the Padres. He pitched well 5 1/3 innings he did allow three earned runs but he only surrendered four hits. Lets just say the Pirates offense isn’t anything near the Padres. Pittsburgh can’t hit water if they fell out of a boat. They have the worst slugging percentage (.345) and are 29th in MLB play with 24 home runs. They have a collective .225 batting average, and are 18th in the league with 268 total hits, and 27th in MLB play scoring 125 runs. The Giants are 3-1 when DeSclafani pitched, expect the same tonight.

Yes we are saying to take the AL West dead last Rangers over the second place Astros. Here’s why the Astros haven't seen the Rangers in 2021. Which means the upset is always in play especially with a division rival. The Rangers send Mike Foltynewicz to the hill. Yes he does have an above 4 ERA in six starts and his 1-3 record would make you doubt me but you shouldn’t. He’s going against his old team and he will look to get his revenge. Foltynewicz has been dependable for the Rangers for 5-6 innings a night. That's what they need tonight with John King and Joely Rodriguez in the back end. The Rangers bullpen has been solid with King and Rodriguez coming in during the 7th and 8th. King has a 2.00 ERA in 18 IP. Rodriguez may have only a 1.86 ERA, but has only worked in 9.2 innings. Those two guys with Ian Kennedy who’s stepped up as the Rangers closer which he’s pitched really well going 10 for 10 on saves with a 2.40 ERA in 15 IP. The Rangers bullpen is good and the starter will do his thing. The Rangers Adolis Garcia and Nate Lowe will get hits on Astros starter Cristian Javier. Javier after starting the season well not giving up a run for the first 17 innings he pitched in April has been struggling as of late. In the last 10.1 inning pitched he has an ERA of 6.97. Giving up  three home runs in that time. The Astros offense is good but won’t have enough fire power in random games in May to get it done. Bet Rangers take the first game of the Texas series.

Were You Entertained? By Maybe The Greatest Game Ever How mad are the fans in Mexico City that LA got their game due to poor field conditions? What hell of game the 9-1 Chiefs and 9-1 Rams put on for us last night. The game lived up to all expectations, and more. MVP candidate Todd Gurley was hurt early in the game as he left the game around the 8 minute mark in the 4th, and didn’t get another snap until 7 minutes of game time after that. He had only 12 touches for 55 yards. Luckily his counterpart Kareem Hunt didn’t have a great game either, as he ran for 70 yards in 14 touches. Remember not great game to these Pro Bowlers standers. A task for the Rams to win was to win the turnover battle which they did, but came from a big help from young starting quarterback Jared Goff. Goff through no interceptions had 413 yards throwing, a 117 QB rating, a running touchdown, and 4 touchdown passes.
