Goat Talk’s NFL Quartley Top 5 Teams
Goat Talk’s NFL Quarterly Top 5 Teams
Now after four weeks a quarter of the regular season is finished, so after the first four weeks here’s our top five teams in the league. Basically who are our Super Bowl favorites after the first four weeks.
5.Patriots
4.Saints
3.Jaguars
2.Chiefs
1.Rams
Our top 5 doesn’t have any dark horse candidate like most NFL Rankings have. Like the Ravens, Titians, or Panthers. Since we don’t believe they will be around at the end of the season. The Patriots are at 5 even though they are 2-2, and other teams do have better records than them. However they still have Tom Brady and Bill Belichick while also being in a such a weak division they’ll be in the playoffs. Once you get a ticket to the dance it becomes about who your quarterback is, if you didn’t know they got the best to do it. They need to get a better pass rush as they are 29th in the category, with very few weapons for Brady. If Josh Gordon stays active we think they can be dangerous especially with Edelman coming back. The pass rush will hurt them only against the elite teams. The Saints at four because they have a Super Bowl winning quarterback in Drew Brees, and the offensive line is protecting him. The offensive line gives Brees time to show his talents, and arguably the best backfield in the NFL in Karma and Ingram running lanes. The defense showed they can have life with holding down the Giants offense with Manning, Beckham, and Barkley. The Saints have showed they can survive outside the dome with two roads win one against the Falcons in a shootout in Atlanta, and their past week win in the Meadowlands. The Saints are very much so for real thus far. The Jaguars did suffer a loss to the Titans two weeks ago but that doesn’t change how we feel about how good they are. They beat one of our top five teams in the Patriots the week before that loss, every team does slip up at least one Sunday especially in the beginning of the year. It doesn’t change the Jaguars are the best team in total defense, number one in pass and scoring defense. They are 3-1 which is the best they have started in fourteen seasons. At Goat Talk we’ve always have believed in Blake Bortles that confidence hasn’t changed. As he’s already thrown over 1,000 yards, looks much more comfortable on third down, beat Brady in a shootout, and plays his system well. The Jaguars last season wasn’t a fluke they are really good. The Chiefs offense is absolutely incredible, they have a quarterback coach in Andy Reid, a young very talent quarterback in Patrick Mahomes, with great talent around him in the backfield, a great tight end named Travis Kelce, good deep threats at receiver, and a solid offensive line. It’s their defense that worries us since it is last in total defense. If they can improve that we see a clear great shot at them in the Super Bowl with how the offense plays. The Rams have absolutely done it all in their 2018 campaign. They have a great running back in Todd Gurley, Jared Goff looks to have a Hall of Fame ceiling as he picked apart a top defense like the Vikings . They have won all their games by two scores or more. With both sides getting it done when they have to. The Rams are favorites at the Super Bowl thus far, and being 4-0 helps the argument.
